Psalm 8:1 Oh LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth,
I shared this verse with our men's breakfast group this morning and I thought I'd share it here as well. Bare with me as I'm new at this blogging stuff and I'm sure there will be a learning curve.
This passage has always been one of my favorites. As I read it last night and this morning I was struck once again with our GREAT GOD! This passage of scripture just now caused me to marvel at the change in cultures from David's day to our time. Here David is proclaiming the great name of God. Today we profane it. In fact many people only know God as a swear word. Literally this is a crying shame. Oh that christians would cry out what a great God we have!
The next verse refers to infants using their mouth to praise the name of God. Jesus claims if the throng at the "Triumphal Entry" were to hold their peace that the rocks would begin to praise Him. It's a fact that Creation reveals the glory of God. We are His creation...in fact we are his "new creation". It's time that we start to proclaim the glory of God.
In this day and age of culture changes we need to stand firm on the greatness of God's name. Lest we forget that He is God and that He created us, defined us and marriage, gives us moral law, and many other issues that the world is waffling on. May Christians stand firm on His name and what the Bible stands for. Oh that we/I would remember "Oh LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth."
